The Invisible Bicycle Helmet
Ok, this is very interesting on many levels. It’s like an airbag for your head and while most attempts at projects like this are far-fetched, the Invisible Bike helmet actually feels very real. Personally, I think a bike helmet that fits you, both physically and stylistically will be a joy to wear. Or you could wear a weird scarf-looking thing… See more at the Invisible Bicycle Helmet.

The New England Frame Builders Bloodline
Everyone always assumes Portland has long been the mecca for frame builders in the USA. Truth be told, New England’s scene has been churning since the early 70’s and it’s still going strong. Angles & Poise did an infographic on how just about every framebuilder in New England can be traced back to a handful of craftsman.
Check it out here. I’m glad to see Icarus and Geekhouse on there.

Fairdale: Bobby’s Bee Story
We’ve all had an encounter with a bee while riding a bike. I got stung last week on our Cloud Burst ride and just recently, Bobby from Full Factory Distribution got a little more than he bargained for. Read up on the story and check out more of Taj’s killer illustrations at Fairdale.

LifeCycle’s Amazing Award-Winning Ad Campaign
This is too good. I love the topography lines made from chains and the map at the top. So creative, no wonder it won two golds:
“How often does a good ad comes along? and how often does a small local business get a chance to work with an award winning agency? LifeCycle had the opportunity to work with a team of great creatives from DDB Singapore led by Thomas Yang and Andrew Hook (Creative Directors), whom created the LifeCycle’s outdoor and print ad campaign titled “Terrain”, “Roadmap” and “Cityscape”. The ad campaign was awarded 2 golds, yes not 1 but 2 GOLDS in the outdoor category! Kudos to the great team for the commitment, creativity and sharing the common passion with LifeCycle. Thank you for putting LifeCycle on the same page with international brands and spreading our passion with the rest of the world.”

Team 160over90 Kits
Doug from 160over90 sent over their team kits. Sure, lycra is lycra to most but anyone who posts their design process and sketches deserves a little recognition. Head over and check it out. I’m way into these.

Six: Kirschner Apparel and Branding
Kirschner is a Brazilian cycling apparel company that required the creative workings of the UK creative consultancy, Six. Since they were a new company, everything was required. From hang tags to branding and their first jersey. The outcome is above and you can see the rest here, at September Industry. I like this one a lot. September Industry, a UK graphic design magazine has the feature up on their blog.

NL Architects Design a Cycling Pavilion in China
One of my longtime favorite Dutch architecture firms, NL Architects, just completed a schematic design for a cycling pavilion in Hainan, China. The elegant form of the roof is the shape of a velodrome, allowing people to race around in all-left loops. One critique would be the lack of spectator seating but maybe there will be a tower in the pavilion’s site to allow for that.

Carlos Guerra’s Red Hook Crit Inspired Renders
I was just ranting on Twitter (hey, it’s what I do best) about how it’s impossible for me to keep on top of emails as of late when I got a follow-up from Carlos Guerra. He emailed me just after I posted up photos of the Red Hook Crit Cinelli Vigorelli, saying it inspired him to model a bike based on Dan’s winning prize. And I blanked on posting it. Dowh! Good thing I can still put it up. Without further adieu, here it is!
