Stainless steel madness!

Argonaut‘s a frame builder out of Portland. I have to say, this is some of the most beautiful work I’ve seen in a long, long time. Just check out Drew’s custom!

Great work. Keep it up!

Squarebuilt Update

Squarebuilt Update

Brooklyn-based Squarebuilt has launched their website. After flipping through Lance’s blog posts, I came across these pics. This is what it’s all about. A bike bred from fire and is just pure evil. Dark Horse indeed dude!

I can’t wait to see what Lance comes up with next! Great job man!

Stealth

Stealth

Cannondale designed a stealthy new concept bike and then fucked it up by putting flat bars on it. Integrated flat bars at that.

Honestly, how are you going to break the sound barrier on flat bars?

Where’s the integrated monocoque Cetma rack? How am I going to carry a 12 pack of Budweiser on this thing? Sheesh.

Ok, it looks really cool and is entirely monocoque, including the chain and seat stays. Cannondale claims that it won’t go into production at the moment, but that elements from it will appear in future Cannondale models.

Ben Ingham for Rapha

Ben Ingham for Rapha

Photographer Ben Ingham took a series of photographs for cycling wear company Rapha recently in the Swiss Alps. Out of all the shots, this one captures the spirit of cycling. It’s timeless.

The photographs are silver gelatin archival prints and were printed in limited quantities.

Naked Bike Chicks

Naked Bike Chicks

All you bike nerds, get your nerdom on. Is that a word? Nerdom? Anyway, the lovely Minx has alerted me that the Team Pegasus calender is done.

Be sure to select either the SFW or NSFW version.

What’s the deal with all the nakedness in calenders lately? Shitty economy + visual stimuli of the nude female variety = happy people?

Whatever it is, it must be working.

Process

Process

I’ve been working on this project for almost 2 years now and it’s most likely got another year or so, if not longer until it’s complete. So far, I’ve redesigned the same rooms close to 3 times each, if not more.

Well, we’ve finally nailed down a cohesive design and I’m in the process of updating the 3d models and 2d construction documents. As you can imagine, there is a great deal of back and forth between the two but at the end of the day, you can create some seductive imagery.

Here’s a reading balcony, suspended 20′ up in the existing w-sections adjacent to a series of dormered windows within a naive-like space in a pre-war skyscraper.

We’re all happy with the way this project is progressing and I can’t wait to see it completed.

Tel Aviv Port: Epic Pittedness

Tel Aviv Port: Epic Pittedness

Mayslits Kassif Architect‘s have made what looks like an epic place to ride a bike or a skateboard. Surface articulation with regards to urban plazas is something the rest of the modern world seems to do so well. American building codes and clientele seem to keep landscape, building and urban designers on the flat z-axis, which is unfortunate.

The Tel Aviv Port looks like an awesome plaza. Great job.

Falcon Again

Having photographer’s blogs and Flickr feeds on my RSS reader is always a good way to brighten up the day. As of now I have SexySushi‘s, Kyoichi’s, Falcon Duran‘s and Ed Glazar‘s on my Google Reader.

Once and a while a pic of myself pops up in the mix. Love the NYC randomness on Falcon’s pics, the environment and composition of Ed’s, the new bike gear and even food on Kyoichi’s and the new tricksters in Japan on Sexy Sushi’s.

Keep it up guys!

Campy Coke Spoon

Campy Coke Spoon

Devotion is a maniac. He is the most bicyentric person I know and this is just the tip of the iceberg. In the tradition of modifying 1960’s Campagnolo downtube shifters, he has re-shaped these with a slight bend, that in his words “Kinda looks like a 70’s coke spoon”.

Well done my friend.

WSDIA Renewed!

WSDIA Renewed!

Jonathan at WeShouldDoItAll is a hustler. I met him 4 years ago here in NYC and he was just starting his own company. Fast forward to the present and WSDIA is a well-known design firm. They just re-upped their site so if you’re never been, now’s your chance to be introduced to their award-winning work!

French

French

I’ve been a fan of Richard ‘French’ Sayer for some time now and read his blog whenever he’s posting consistently. His work is inspired by metal and the darkness that surrounds the genre. The Goat of Hades piece and the White Knight are my two favorites. I always mean to pick up a shirt or a print of his when they’re for sale but I always forget to before they sell out.

Now there’s a new outlet to pick up his work. Vetika has a ton of French prints and shirts. Head on over and give them a look.

LOOK Mondrian

Dave’s a lucky guy. Not only does his family have a long, long history in cycling, but he also has a sick bike work station at his architecture office. He was building it up for a family member and the end product is gorgeous! That’s a pretty awesome rug I might add as well.

This LOOK Mondrian road frame equipped with Campagnolo SUPER Record 11 is a roadie’s wet dream. These frames are so beautiful and I’m sure the test ride Dave took it on today was worth while!
