Kinoko Cycles Looks Amazing!

As an architect, I can really enjoy looking through photos of the new Kinoko Cycles space. I’ve always wanted to design a complete bike shop, from the floorboards to the millwork and it looks like the designer went to town on the buildout. As part of any successful project, photos are of the utmost importance and the shots on the Kinoko Flickr look great. One day I’d love to check out the space in person!

Defgrip: the History of the Dig Logo

I may not be a BMX lifer but the Dig BMX Logo has always been visually engaging to me. Growing up in the metal, punk and hardcore scenes, I always found it relevant. Four fists and a chainring (sorry, sprocket), how simple. But what’s the meaning behind it?

Head over to Defgrip to see what Dig’s editor-in-chief, Will Smyth has to say…

Things Come Apart Exhibition in Chicago

If you’re in Chicago this weekend and you’re looking for something to do. You might wanna check this out. Toronto-based photographer Todd Mclelland has a knack for disassembling everyday items and cataloging them through his lens. Right now, he has an exhibition up at the Museum of Science and Industry until May 19th.

Jake Ricker: Amalgamate and Born to Die Zines

Jake Ricker reached out to his photography buddies to pull together a new 70-page zine out called Amalgamate. The photos are great and the proceeds are going to help cover his wife’s medical bills after she was attacked by three dogs on a hike last year.

Some of the friends that submitted photography and art are:

Dustin Klein, Damian Riehl, Kyle Kelley, Jason Yim, Dylan Bigby, Kyler Martz, Matt Lingo, Terry Barentsen, Chas Christiansen, Crihs Thormann and Aron Dubios.

He is also still selling his other 60 page zine called Born To Die of his photography. $12 each or $20 for both. To help out and order PayPal $12 or $20 as a “gift” to jakericker@gmail.com. And make sure to include your address.
