Later Minneapolis!

I had a BLAST! There’s much more coverage coming here on the site from my stay in Minneapolis, but I had to post this one up first. Honestly, I couldn’t think of a better photo to say adieu!

Until next time (when the snow melts)!

Minneapolis Randomness 01

Yesterday was the first full day in Minneapolis. I’m here for the All-City Championships, along with Kyle from Tracko. We’re both crashing at Jeff from All-City’s house and that means we fall into his routine. His food, his rides, his spots and of course, his house. When you’re staying with someone like Jeff, expect a good time. Check out some narrated photos in the Gallery!

She Devils PGH

I had to share this:

“She-Devils PGH is a camp-tastic, genre-defying caper, about an all-female bicycle gang that cruise the streets of PIttsburgh, regulating the safety of their fellow female riders.

This short film begins following a typical day-in-the-life of the group, but takes a strange turn when the ladies witness a rogue car weaving along the road. They soon discover the car is inhabited by alien lifeforms and must band together to stop an impending alien attack.

Help support us in getting this film made through our Kickstarter campaign.”

NYC Street Snaps 02

Today is my last full day in NYC. This trip, unlike previous visits, I spent a majority of my days walking around the city, even in the rain. While I’ve visited a few shops and seen some friends, to me, New York is just as engaging by foot as it is by bike. Check out a series of narrated photos in this Friday afternoon Gallery!

Riding With Your Lady

I’ve been meaning to post this photo of Lauren and I that Jacob took a few weeks back in Austin. He really captured that magical moment of riding around town with your lady.

Oh and that #LightBro!

Without New York City, I wouldn’t be who I am today and quite possibly, this site wouldn’t even exist. The people here are like family and while I may be detached from their day to day lives, I still always roll through for a quick visit when I’m in town. Lauren and I arrived late Sunday, so yesterday was our first day in town.

I swung by a few spots in Brooklyn after my friend Harry and I took a morning spin around Central Park. Later, day turned into night and I turned to some of my old digs to meet up with some old friends. Beer, bros and bikes. Just like the Brooklyn I left three years ago.

Most of these photos are quick shots, or portraits but all came from the Sony RX100… Check out some narrated photos in the Gallery!

Notes on Flying with a Bicycle

Notes on Flying with a Bicycle

If anyone can tell you about traveling on an airplane with a bike, it’s me. I spend just about every other week flying with my bike, all over the country and the world. In doing so, I’ve established a routine that works without issue but it takes a little bit of planning before you even begin to pack.

July Austin Randomness

July Austin Randomness

July has been a busy month for me. When I wasn’t on the road, I was out and about here in Austin with my Mamiya 7ii shooting portraits and other randomness. This set is heavily focused on the 4th of July party at Yellow Jacket Social Club but also includes a few bike portraits. I hope you enjoy!

Tools of the trade:
Mamiya 7ii
Kodak Portra 400

My Friends at Cuppow and the BNTO

This is way outta left field but my dear friends at Cuppow (who happen to design the 44rn chainrings) released a new product called the BNTO. It’s really quite ingenious, especially if you like Ball mason jars.

… and yes, this is me just helping some rad people out. Nothing more!

Recent Roll: The Dude Room

I love spaces like this, especially from someone who rides bikes. Artistic artifacts, scrawl, illustrations, bike components and just stuff, plastered all over the walls. Can anyone guess who’s “Dude Room” this is?

Tools of the trade:
Leica M7 / Zeiss 28mm t*
Neopan 400

Recent Roll: Lights Out SF!

On my last night in SF, I hopped up to the top of the biggest hill I could find and waited for the fog to envelop Sutro as the sun was setting like it so often does. I shot a few 35mm and medium format photos, but these were my favorite. I really do love that city.

I Shot Some Photos for Benny Gold’s Guerrero Collection Look Book

Benny Gold and I have gotten to know each other over the years through various outlets, one of which being the track bike scene in SF. Back in the mid-2000’s Benny was designing logos for numerous bike shops and brands, including Mash and City Grounds. Since then, he’s been focusing almost exclusively on his brand. Each season, look books are essential in a brand’s marketing and while I was in SF, he wanted me to shoot some photos. I don’t really do lookbooks, so it was something different from my day to day shooting style.

These are some photos from the Guerrero Collection Look Book, see more at Benny Gold and check out the Guerrero Collection line here.
