Tak is one of the OG bike messenger photographers in NYC and so seeing him shooting something like the Red Hook Crit is even that much more significant. Who would have thought that alleycats would eventually turn into track bike criteriums? See more at New York Bike Dreams.
The crew from Wolfpack headed all the way from Los Angeles to Brooklyn to compete in the 2013 Red Hook Crit and they brought Ace from the Sleepers along with to document the weekend.

I’m still bummed that I missed the 2013 Red Hook Crit. Mostly because I didn’t get to see a lot of my friends, including Kelli, who decided to race it this year. Affinity posted up these photos of her, taken during the Red Hook Crit weekend. Check out more at Affinity and keep checking in on The Job for more portraits!
By now, everyone’s already seen the media overload that came from the 2013 Red Hook Crit. In typical Manual for Speed fashion, but atypical media coverage, Emiliano Granado went into the RHC looking to catch riders off guard for some flash photography rider and spectator portraits.
Guest Galleries have become a new favorite section of the site and I’m always stoked to get some exposures from Emiliano. See more in the gallery!

Man, I feel like this year’s Red Hook Crit has produced some of the best photos from the event. There are hundreds of exceptional photos on the Red Hook Crit Tumblr, so head over and check them out. I like this one that Emiliano Bronado shot.
This just in from Red Hook Crit:
“We are proud to release the 2013 Red Hook Criterium Brooklyn Alternate poster. Featuring paintings by local artists Wayne Mazzotta & John Gordon Gauld and designed by Jonah Birns. This poster pays respect to the rich maritime history of Red Hook and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, the RHC’s waterfront location where the 2013 Championship Series presented by Rockstar Games will begin on March 30th, 2013.”
11×17 prints will be available on Gage + DeSoto http://www.gagedesoto.
This year’s Red Hook Crit has officially raised the bar!

This just in from the Red Hook Crit:
“The Red Hook Criterium is proud to announce the introduction of a cohesive championship series which will take place over four rounds. Points will be accumulated throughout the season to award the first Red Hook Criterium World Champion. The first round will take place on March 30th in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Additional race dates, venues, and cities will be announced shortly.
In addition we will be introducing a new qualifying format, a constructors/team cup, and an expanded prize list. We are also increasing our focus on the 5k running race with a two race series, the men and women’s fields held separately, and USATF certified courses.”
Dosnoventa delivers yet another Red Hook Crit video, this time showcasing the Milan criterium. I always love their edits. See you guys in Brooklyn!
